This song came to me through my readings of the Upanishads. I wanted to end the album on this note because although I have wavered I feel like I am back on my spiritual path.
lyrics
Hook:
Find wholeness within the push and pull / and feel the fullness when you look into the soul
Verse 1:
Save the sympathy, I got weight up on my chest / but with the sounds of the symphony I let it rest
Cause I need to let go so I can move on / like a snake, that shed, its skin upon the lawn
Yes I’m drawn, to my next destination / but patience I wanna step with no expectations
So out with the old, in with the new / I breathe to be in the now and that’s how I do
//hook//
Verse 2:
Most looking to control the world with force / unaware of the source to resources they need
With a tendency to feed endlessly but of course / you be a sorceress or an enemy if you try to lift
The lenses from the senses the shift seems tremendous / but if you take that leap it’s deep and feel stupendous
Yea, I’m just, a man in the making / but I’ve learned that this world is not for the taking
It’s a new chapter as I flip the page / I wish to engage, and so I hit the stage,
To hold space, for ceremony but only / the most high, deserves praise not I
I’m trying to be humble in this concrete jungle / being mindful of my steps so I don’t take a tumble
And as I find harmony, / I let go of the stress harming me

“Those who combine action with meditations cross the sea of death through action, and through meditation enter in to immortality through the practice of meditation, so we have heard from the wise
So by realizing the unity from which each created thing has come and in which it is sustained we can live rightly in the world of change in order to ascend to the eternal”

I paraphrased the spoken word from two different passages in the Upanishads that resonated strongly with me.
